VDI status report DDA application scenario – Continuous and dynamic engineering of systems

The engineering of a plant is increasingly characterized by changes. The integrating model is the lever for mastering the management of change. As part of Industry 4.0, the I4.0 platform is creating application scenarios that highlight German industry’s vision of its digitalization.
The objective of this scenario is that an integrating plant model is created in an initial engineering process for the construction of a plant, which is then maintained and kept consistent throughout the life cycle of the realized plant in permanently interlocking processes between engineering, operation and service of the plant.
In addition to an image of the actual plant, including its development and life cycle, this model also contains boundary conditions, context information, possible variants, conceivable and actual engineering decisions and their potential and actual effects, etc.
